It’s a new day, a new month, a new year for Muslims. Alhamdulillah. Allah allowed us to witness this new beginning for a reason. We should be sure to fulfill our Lord’s purpose in our lives. Be true to yourself, love your Rabb, be good to others.
Someone sent me this quote yesterday- “No matter how angry, never use harsh words on others; for those could be the last words you’ll ever say to them. Choose to be kind always.” I think it’s a beautiful policy to adopt and when best to turn over a new leaf if not on the first day of a brand new year 😁
We should remember to observe the recommended fasts for this period. Especially 9th and 10th of Muharram which are highly recommended.
Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘The best of fasting after Ramadhan is fasting Allah’s month of Muharram.’“
We should also remember that Muharram is one of the sacred months which Allah mentioned in the Quran. We should strive to keep away from sin and be more righteous in this month.
Allah (SWT) says in Qur’an 9:36 what is translated as- Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them. And fight against the disbelievers collectively as they fight against you collectively. And know that Allah is with the righteous [who fear Him].
May Allah make it easy for us to please Him and may He grant us Al Jannatul Firdaos. Amin
